B#2 amends for last week with sweep of PM;

Hosts battle from behind all night to earn 3 wins

G#1:  B#2, 4-2

G#2:  B#2, 10-6

G#3:  B#2, 4-2

PM settles at 8-7; B#2 climbs to 8-7

BG St. Mark's (1) at BG Cloverdale (2)

BGC win streak snapped at 8, but another starts

after club records 4th straight series victory

G#1:  BGSM, 3-2

BGSM derails BGC's attempt for 9 consecutive wins;

BGSM builds a 2-0 lead on 2-out RBI triples by

Dave Otte in 1st & Todd Kurfess in 3rd;

BGC ties scores in 4th with pair of runs resulting

from 3 straight doubles to start inning with

Craig Kleine & Seth Peters bringing home tallies;

However, another Kurfess 2-out, RBI 3-bagger in 5th

proves to be deciding run;

Kurfess & Larry Weiss lead BGSM with 3 hits each,

while Peters has 4 for hosts

G#2:  BGC, 6-4

Three 1st inning runs give BGC an early advantage;

Jerry Charles has a 2-run, 2-out triple in 1st &

scores on a Ben Peters single;

BGSM starts its opening frame with 4 straight singles,

but can only score 1 on Otte's hit;

Paul Wachter hits his 1st of 2 HRs for game with

a solo blast in 2nd;

John Kunstmann's RBI triple in 3rd cuts deficit to 4-2;

BGC gets run back in 5th on a Seth Peters RBI double,

but BGSM draws to within 1 run in its half of 5th with

pair of markers on another Kunstmann 3-sacker;

But that would be as close as BGSM would get with Wachter

hitting another solo bomb with 2 outs in 6th;

Kleine paces BGC with 4 hits, including 3 doubles, while

Ben Peters has 3 hits as does BGSM's

Tom Lemmerbrock (2-2B) & Kurfess (2-3B)

G#3:  BGC, 9-1

BGC breaks out whooping sticks in finale, going yard 6 times;

Keith Miller gives BGSM a 1-0 lead in 2nd with a solo HR,

but that would be team's only offense;

BGC counters with 6 runs on 6 hits in its 2nd, including a stretch

of back-to-back-to-back bombs by Wachter, Rick Traver

& Kleine with 1 out with Wachter's center strike plating 3;

Ralph Aufdenkamp starts rally with a lead-off HR;

Wachter adds another solo HR in 6th & Charles

ends BGC's onslaught with a solo HR in 7th;

Wachter has a sacrifice to go along with his 3

extra-base hits (2B in 4th);

Caleb Peters also contributes 3 safeties for BGC to

match Weiss of BGSM

Wachter finishes series with 4 HRs & 6 RBI;

BGC hits 8 bombs for night, including 7 of solo variety

BGSM dips to 5-10; BGC improves to 10-5

Stony Ridge (0) at Salem Grace United (3)

SGU makes quick work of SR, turning in sweep in

under 90 minutes of action

G#1:  SGU, 3-1

SGU takes a 2-0 lead in 4th on a Gary Evers 2-run HR;

Jeremy Orth doubles in lone SR tally in 6th with a 2-out

double to cut deficit to 2-1;

Charlie Krawetzke pushes advantage back to a pair of runs

with his run-scoring deuce in 6th;

Evers finishes game with 2 extra-base hits, including a lead-off

double in 6th that scores on Krawetzke's hit

G#2:  SGU, 4-1

SGU builds a 2-0 lead after pushing across single tallies

in 2nd & 3rd frames;

Evers homers again in 2nd, while Gene Fairbanks hits a

lead-off bomb a stanza later;

Chris Lockoski (1B) & Don Young (2B) have RBI hits in 7th

to make it 4-0 before Doug Brough of SR brings in

team's only marker with a bases-loaded single in 7th;

Young finishes with a pair of 2-baggers

G#3:  SGU, 5-2

SGU again jumps out 1st before SR cracks scoreboard late;

Bob Marsh puts SGU up 1-0 on a solo HR in 3rd;

Hosts string together 3 doubles in 5th with Young & Evers

knocking in runs;

Evers hits his 3rd HR of series in 7th, this time a 2-run shot;

SR strikes for 2 in 8th on an Ed Boelkens 2-out triple;

Marsh & Evers end with 3 safeties apiece with both

hitting 2 doubles to go along with their HRs;

Young contributes 2 mores doubles as well for SGU to

close with 5 for night;

Jigs Sandwisch paces guests with 3 hits

For night, SR strands 16 runners on 20 hits;

Evers knocks in half of SGU's runs over 3-game set

SR falls to 3-12; SGU climbs to 10-5

NR wins 4th series in 5 weeks

G#1:  Zion, 8-3

G#2:  NR, 8-3

G#3:  NR, 3-2

Zion goes to 7-8; NR improves to 9-6
