B#2 starts season in grand fashion with a 16-7 win as John Keiser

hits 3 slams (1st, 2nd & 7th innings) en route to a 12 RBI game

for what very well could be a league record;

In fact, the Keiser father-son duo produces 5 HRs for game & 14

RBI as Kit hits 2 solo shots in 8th & 9th frames;

B#2 jumps out to an 8-1 lead in G#1 & pretty much coasts, although

SGU cuts lead to 3 heading into 7th before John Keiser strikes

again to put game out of reach;

Mike O'Brien, Rick Cajka & Ken Gerwin (RBI) each collect

4 hits for B#2, while Jim Bowe (3-2B) has 4 for SGU &

Bob Marsh knocks in 3 for hosts on a HR;

G#1 features 10 HRs, 6 by B#2 & both clubs combine for 19 bombs

for series including 10 by the guests;

Gerwin's 2-out RBI triple in 10th inning of G#2 ends

contest in walk-off fashion (4-3 win);

B#2 holds a 3-1 advantage after 5 frames, but SGU rallies with

single tallies in 6th (Bowe RBI single) & 7th (Marsh HR);

O'Brien again nets 4 hits as does teammate Pepper Martin (3-2B);

B#2 opens up a 5-4 contest in 7th with 3 runs after 2 outs,

including an RBI triple by Gerwin to earn 8-4 victory;

night in double digits in reaching base;

& Farr later scores on Dana Kratzer's single;

Trinity adds run in 7th on a Janes triple, his 4th hit of game;

Brendan Yowler has pair of 3-baggers for BGN for 2nd

straight contest as TUM wins, 4-2;

BGN takes its 1st lead of night in 2nd of G#3 on a Bill Bosworth

single only to see its advantage fade a half frame later;

Janes & Farr hit back-to-back jacks in 7th to salt a 5-2 win;

Despite being outscored for night, B#1 claims series

B#1 takes opener, 3-2, behind 3-hit efforts each from

Mel Karns & Scott Samson;

Both teams trade runs in 1st as Rick Traver hits solo HR

to start game, then Luther Henline counters with RBI triple;

Karns hits solo HR in 6th, but Seth Peters ties

in 8th on a solo blast of his own;

B#1 then gets 4 straight singles in last of 8th with Samson's

RBI hit being the difference;

BGC hits 5 HRs en route to 11-5 victory;

B#1 leads 3-2 after 5, but BGC strikes for 4 in 6th & 5 in 8th;

Paul Wachter has 2 solo HRs & Jim Meyer hits a big 3-run bomb in

6th to give BGC the lead for good;

Ralph Aufdenkamp also hits a 3-run shot in 8th;

Wachter closes with 3 hits, including his 2nd error in as many

games, & Traver has 2 triples;

Karns has 4 hits, including a triple, while Ken Rahe &

Samson each drive home a pair of runs;

G#3 remains scoreless thru 5 innings before Karns hits an RBI

triple in 6th to snap deadlock;

Pinch hitters Kenny Sieving & Victor Schuerman (3B) have big

back-to-back RBI hits in 3-run 7th for B#1;

BGC gets on board in 8th on Ron Merritt's triple & closes

the scoring in 9th on Jerry Charles' solo HR but falls short

in 4-2 setback;

BGC ends evening with 8 HRs & 3 E's;
