thanks to 2 wins & a Stony Ridge sweep of Bethlehem #2;

BG Trinity also captures 3 victories, while

Pemberville Presbyterian notches 1st series win since December;

Zion continues charge with 2 more victories as

NR starts night with 6-5 win in opener;

After grabbing early 3-1 lead after 1st inning, NR finds

itself trailing 5-4 late in game;

Team rallies to tie contest in 8th on a leadoff HR

by Gary Chamberlain & then wins it in walk-off fashion

on an Adam Snyder 1-out, walk-off double;

NR gets 3 in 1st on 5 singles & a bases-loaded

sacrifice by Lyle Schroeder;

Schroeder also hits a solo HR in 3rd & finishes game

with 2 RBI as does Snyder;

Sonny Castillo produces 4 hits for NR, while Ken Rahe

& Jim Fields have RBI triples for B#1;

Dave Apgar & Mel Karns also have run-scoring doubles for B#1;

B#1 bounces back nicely with a 7-5 win in G#2;

Tied at 2-2 entering B-6th, B#1 scores 5 to break game open;

Inning is capped by Dean Schuerman's grand slam;

Rahe has another RBI triple in 2-run B#1 1st stanza;

Snyder has RBI double in 4th for NR & Chamberlain

hits another lead-off HR, this time in 5th, to knot score at 2;

Jim Dobson starts comeback with solo HR in 6th & then

Russ Siek & Chamberlain connect with RBI doubles in 7th

to give NR what would be a short-lived advantage;

Rahe drives in 2 with triple in 8th for B#1 & Schuerman also

plates a run with a 3-bagger 3 batters later;

In 9th, B#1 strings together 5 singles to put game out of reach;

Rahe & Karns end game with 3 & 2 RBI, respectively;

Karns produces 3rd straight, 3-hit game;

Castillo leads both sides with 11 hits (all singles) over series;

Schuerman drives in 6, while Rahe plates 5 on

7 hits, including 3 triples;

Karns ends night with 4 RBI with a double among his 9 safeties;

Dave Helm also contributes 7 hits (3-2B);

Dave Otte plates a run for BGSM in 5th with a triple

& Keith Miller hits a solo HR in 7th;

Bob Jividen leads PM with 4 hits, including an RBI double

in team's 3-run 7th that erases 3-2 BGSM lead;

Darren Pash knocks in 3, including run-scoring

triples in both 3rd & 8th frames;

PM starts game with auto out before Arron Brockschmidt

arrives halfway thru for 1st action of season;

PM builds 7-0 advantage, bolstered by 5 tallies

in 3rd, en route to 7-3 win in G#2;

Pash has 5 hits & 2 RBI with 1 coming on a run-producing

double in 5th inning;

Rick Ward nets 4 hits & 2 RBI with his triple in 2nd

giving PM a lead it would not let go;

BGSM scores all 3 of its runs in 7th on RBI extra-base hits

team can't get equalizer rest of way despite lead-off hits

Zion takes 3rd straight series thanks to explosive 3rd game

Zion falls behind early, but rallies to take opener, 6-3;

Brendan Yowler gives BGN a 2-0 lead in 1st with a 2-run triple;

ZL posts 4 in 3rd to take lead on RBI hits by Rick Nelson (2B),

Andy Lang (1B), Jessica Lang (E) & Dan Meyer (2B);

Yowler cuts deficit to a run in 5th with an RBI base hit,

but Zion gets single tallies of its own in 6th (Nelson 1B)

7th (Curt Juergens 2B) for breathing room;

Brian Burrell (2-2B) leads Zion with 4 hits;

Nelson ends with 2 RBI (2-2B);

Mike Barbour paces visitors with 4 safeties (2B), while

Yowler accounts for all 3 RBI;

BGN evens series with 8-5 win in G#2;

Zion takes 3-0 cushion in 2nd, but BGN quickly ties with

3 in its 2nd & garners lead for good with 2 in 5th;

make it 7-5 in 6th, but Todd Nienow closes scoring

Offensive flood gates open in G#3 with Zion

coming out on top, 18-11;

BGN strikes 1st on an RBI single by Yowler in opening

inning, but ZL scores game's next 16 runs, including

a 5-run 1st & 7-run (9 hit) 3rd frame;

Up 18-5 in 9th, BGN flexes its muscles by putting 6 on

board with 4 coming on a Lish McIntosh grand slam;

McIntosh also hits a 3-run HR an inning earlier;

Zion's lineup top 4 produce 21 of team's 29 hits;

Juergens has 6 (3 RBI), while Burrell, Moenter &

Nelson corral 5 each;

BGN churns out 22 runs on 50 hits;

Yowler reaches 9 times (3-3B, 2B) for BGN &

equals McIntosh with 7 RBI;

Trinity sweeps for 5th series win in last 6 tries

TUM offense comes alive in 12-1 win in G#1;

Don Young's solo HR in 2nd puts SGU ahead 1-0, but

it's all Trinity after that;

TUM takes lead in 3rd with 4 consecutive 2-out hits producing a

pair of runs on Mike Farr's double & Brad Kratzer's single;

Trinity puts 2 more on board in 4th when Gary Manning

connects on a 2-run bomb & then ices game with a

monster 8-hit, 8-run 8th inning with all its scoring coming

across after 2 were retired;

Big hits in frame came on Farr's bases-loaded triple &

Dana Kratzer's 3-run center strike;

Andy Janes & Dave Avery (RBI) lead TUM with 4 hits each,

while Dana Kratzer ends with 3;

Trinity breaks open a 2-2 game with 3 runs in 8th & 2 more

in 9th for a 7-2 victory in middle match-up;

Manning has big blow in 8th with a 2-out, 3-run HR,

while Brad Kratzer has a 2-run double in 9th;

Shelby Janes hits a solo shot in 2nd to tie contest at 1-1,

then later Farr hits an RBI double;

Andy Janes adds 5 more hits (all doubles) to his ledger

in 5 trips to line;

Jim Bowe puts SGU up 1-0 in 1st with a 2-out RBI double

& Gene Fairbanks ties game at 2-2 in 7th with a 2-bagger;

Trinity registers 3rd sweep of season with a 3-2 conquest in

Julie Williams gives PP a 1-0 lead an inning earlier with

an RBI double & hits another run-scoring 2-sacker in 7th;

Steve Williams ends PP scoring with a solo HR in 9th;

All 9 PP hits are for extra bases;

BGC scores its runs in 6th to cut deficit to 4-2

on Paul Wachter's 2-run HR:

PP earns 7-5 victory in G#2 as Tezak strokes 2 doubles

& a HR while Jim Jones adds 4 singles;​

Tezak hits 2-run shot in 1st, but BGC gets run back in 2nd on

Ron Merritt's RBI triple with 2 down;

Caleb Peters boosts advantage back to pair in his

team's 8th with a solo center strike;

Tezak belts a 2-out HR for PP in 9th to get within

1 again, but guests can't push another across;

Troutt finishes game with 3 doubles & 2 RBI;

PP nets 8 addition extra-base hits to finish series with 26;

Troutt (4 RBI), Curtis (3 RBI) & Jones all register 7 hits each

over series for PP while Tezak leads squad with 6 RBI;

SR takes opener 10-2 as Ed Boelkens goes 6-for-6;

Guests build 8-0 lead before B#2 cracks scoreboard in 7th;

Larry Michel adds 4 hits & 2 RBI for SR, while

teammate Fred Swihart collects a pair of doubles &

triple to along with 4 RBI;

Lori Dewyre also drives in 2 on a HR in SR's big 6-run 6th;

Russ Abke & Rick Cajka account for both B#2 runs

with RBI singles;

SR jumps in front again with 2 in 3rd & never looks

back in 4-1 victory;

Earl Hagg has RBI triple in 3rd, Swihart a solo HR in 4th

& Jeremy Orth an RBI 3-bagger in 5th as part of SR's attack;

Orth also has RBI single in 3rd;

John Keiser's solo HR in 7th breaks shutout;

SR completes sweep with 4-0 win in G#3;

Hagg & Orth produce 2-run triples in 3rd & 5th innings,

respectively, for game's only runs;

B#2 loads bases in 1st, but only gets 1 hit rest of way

as last 21 shooters go down in order;

SR holds lead entire series;

Boelkens finishes with 9 hits, while Hagg (3-3B) &

Michel have 7 apiece;
