Pemberville Methodist claims 4th straight series

to maintain 4-game lead atop WCDL standings;

Bethlehem #2 keeps pace with PM after series victory;

Stony Ridge wins 6th straight series to move over

.500 mark, while Zion Luckey resumes winning ways

Bill Bosworth goes 5-for-5 & Mike Barbour has 3 RBI

to pace BGN to victory

G#2:  PM, 10-6

Darren Pash turns in a 7-for-8 effort at line with a triple

& 3 RBI, while Rick Ward adds 5 hits for PM;

Paul Spicer also knocks in 3, including a 2-run HR

G#3:  PM, 11-7

Pash adds 5 more hits, including a 3-bagger, to finish series

with 14 & Ward plates 3 runs;

PM gets 47 of its 55 hits over series in last 2 games

B#2 gets back on track with series road win

G#1:  B#2, 4-0

Travis Ford has pair of doubles, a HR & 2 RBI to lead

B#2 to shut-out victory

G#2:  B#2, 5-2

Ford contributes 3 more 2-sackers & 2 RBI;

Ken Finley also drives in pair on 2 run-scoring triples

G#3:  BGC, 11-8

Ford produces 3 additional doubles (2 RBI) for B#2, but

BGC avoids sweep as team nets 15 extra-base hits;

Christian Peters (2-2B, 2-HR) & Craig Kleine (4-2B) lead charge

with 4 hits apiece for BGC;

Peters, along with brothers Seth & Caleb, as well as Ron Merritt,

each collect 2 RBI;

Finley has 4 hits for B#2 & Mike O'Brien has 2 RBI

SR gets 3rd sweep in last 5 weeks

G#1:  SR, 6-3

Ed Boelkens goes 5-for-5 with a triple & RBI;

Teammate Steve Kurfess knocks in 4 on a pair of 2-run HRs;

Ron Curtis has a 2-run bomb for PP

G#2:  SR, 5-4

Jim Jones has 4 hits for PP & Dale Fahle (2B, 2-HR)

knocks in 3 for PP, but it's not enough as SR rallies for

win on Jessica Orth's walk-off 2-run HR in 9th;

Orth finishes with 3 RBI, including a run-scoring double in 7th;

Fahle's 2nd HR of game in 9th temporarily puts PP up 4-3;

G#3:  SR, 5-2

SR rallies from 2-0 deficit with 3 runs in 8th & 2 more in 9th;

Jeremy Orth knocks in 2 in 8th on a triple & a Fred Swihart

RBI double then puts SR in front for good;

PP plays entire series with an automatic out

Eilert's RBI double in 7th snaps 4-4 deadlock;

Roger Hayward has a 2-run HR for BGSM

G#2:  BGSM, 3-1 (12 innings)

Marilyn Shepperd's walk-off, 2-run HR in extras wins it for BGSM;

Larry Zimmerman's 2nd center strike of night ties game

at 1-1 in 4th & both teams go scoreless for next 7-plus innings;

Curt Juergens has 4 hits for Zion

G#3:  Zion, 15-6

Zion breaks an 11-inning scoring drought with a monster

10-run 2nd frame on 11 hits with Dan Meyer's solo HR

& grand slam sparking matters;

Burrell has 4 hits & Jessica Lang 4 RBI (2-2B, HR);

BGSM takes a 4-0 lead in 1st on a pair of 2-run jacks by

Larry Weiss & Keith Miller, but BGSM's happiness quickly fades

Trinity continues impressive late season surge

G#1:  TUM, 9-3

Andy Janes (2B) & Dave Avery (2B, 3B, E) lead Trinity

with 5 & 4 hits, respectively, with each collecting 2 RBI;

Jim Bockbrader has 4 hits for NR, including 2 doubles

G#2:  TUM, 6-3

Mike Farr knocks in 5 runners for Trinity on an RBI

double in 2nd, a solo HR in 6th & a 2-run triple in 7th

G#3:  TUM, 10-4​

Gary Manning has 3 RBI for victorious Trinity;

Manning (2B, 3B, HR) is 1 of 4 TUM players with 3 hits;

Farr (2-2B, 3B) & Dana Kratzer (2-2B) both knock in 2;

A 7-run 4th inning for Trinity is difference in game,

snapping a 3-3 deadlock

B#1 explodes for 36 runs en route 4th sweep of year

G#1:  B#1, 6-4

Hosts jump out to an early 2-0 lead & never look back;

Mel Karns paces B#1 with 3 hits & adds 2 RBI;

Dean Schuerman also has 2 RBI on a triple in 5th;

Gary Evers hits a 2-run HR for SGU in 9th

G#2:  B#1, 18-4

B#1 erupts for 33 hits with Dave Helm collecting 6 &

Dave Apgar & Mel Karns getting 5 each;

All but 4 of B#1's safeties are singles;

Ken Rahe & Steve Kreais finish game with 4 RBI apiece;

Kreais has a 2-run double in 5th & RBI triple in 8th, while

Rahe has a 2-run triple in 9th;

3 other B#1 players have 2 RBI each (Helm, Apgar, Schuerman);

Evers & Don Taulker hit solo HRs for SGU;

SGU actually leads 1-0 before B#1 scores 15 runs over

4th (3), 5th (7) & 6th (5) frames

G#3:  B#1, 12-2

SGU takes 2-0 advantage in 1st on back-to-back blasts

by Jim Bowe & Don Young, but would get just 4 hits rest of way;

Karns produces 4 more hits (12 for series) & 3 additional

RBI (6 for night) with his 2-run triple in 1st tying game;

Schuerman belts a grand slam in 8th & concludes evening

with 8 RBI, while Rahe also nets 2 more RBI on a 3-bagger

in 6th to finish series with 7 RBI & 3 triples
