Guests use 4 HRs to power way to victory;

Paul Wachter hits solo shots in 7th & 9th innings,

while Caitlin Davenport belts a 2-run HR in 6th;

Ralph Aufdenkamp opens game's scoring with solo HR in 2nd;

BGSM thwarts shutout on Keith Miller's bases-loaded

triple in 8th inning;

BGSM's Todd Kurfess leads both sides with 4 hits &

teammate Larry Weiss produces a pair of doubles

G#2:  BGC, 4-1

BGSM gets the upper hand on a Kurfess RBI single in 1st,

but it's all BGC afterwards;

Ron Merritt ties game at 1-1 with an RBI double in 4th &

then Rick Traver's 2-run center finder in 5th puts ahead for good;

Wachter plates BGC's other tally with an RBI single in 6th;

Wachter leads team with 3 hits (2B, E)

G#3:  BGSM, 2-1

BGC comes within 2 outs of earning its 1st brooming of season,

but a 2-run 9th for BGSM spoils sweep aspirations;

BGSM loads bases in last at bat & then gets walk-off

winner when Weiss comes through with a 1-out, 2-run double;

Wachter accounts for visitor's lone run of game with

his 2-out solo blast in 5th, 1 of just 3 hits for BGC

BGN pulls over .500 mark with sweep

G#1:  BGN, 3-1

Mike Barbour goes 4-for-4 in win with a pair of RBI triples

in 1st & 3rd innings & finishes a HR shy of cycle;

Mickey Gore drives in BGN's other tally on a 4th-inning single;

Chris Tezak has 3 hits for PP, including a run-scoring single in 3rd

G#2:  BGN, 12-0

Jody Yowler has a 5-for-5 game with 3 RBI;

Yowler has a pair of RBI hits (2B, 1B) in 3rd & later

collects an RBI triple in 7th;

Todd Nienow also drives in 3 runs, including a 2-run HR in 3rd;

Barbour strokes another 1st-inning RBI triple, while

Kevin Miller has a 2-run center strike in 4th;

PP garners just 1 hit, a lead-off double by Julie Williams in 5th

G#3:  BGN, 3-2

Nienow continues his excellent rookie hitting with a 4-for-4 effort

& Miller drives in 2 more with a solo HR in 2nd & RBI double

in 5th that breaks a 2-2 deadlock;

Lish McIntosh also contributes a solo HR in 2nd to tie

game after a Ron Curtis 2-run bomb in 1st gives PP

its only lead of series

Mel Karns gives B#1 an early lead with his 2-run triple

in opening frame, but PM responds with game's last 5 runs;

Down 2-1 in 4th, PM gets 3 runs on consecutive RBI hits from

Grace Jividen (2B), Arron Brockschmidt (1B) & Rick Ward (1B);

Ward drives in his team's 1st run with an RBI triple in 2nd;

Darren Pash knocks in PM's final run with an RBI 3-bagger in 7th;

Dave Apgar of B#1 leads both sides with 4 hits

G#2:  PM, 5-4

PM rallies late to win middle game with a 2-run 9th, capped by

Grace Jividen's walk-off, bases-loaded single after

Tom Jividen's tying single;

PM grabs early lead in this one with a 3-run 1st as

Paul Spicer (3B), Alex Ward (1B) & Tom Jividen (3B) deliver

back-to-back-to-back, 2-out RBI safeties;

B#1 chips away at deficit with 2 in 2nd on RBI triples by

Steve Kreais & Dave Helm, & then knot score in 3rd on

Dean Schuerman's RBI single;

B#1 then grabs its 1st lead in 5th when rookie Harry Reynolds

delivers a 2-out RBI triple;

B#1 hits 3 double plays that count, including 2 with bases loaded

G#3:  PM, 5-4

Spicer has 4 hits, including a double & triple, & also drives

in 3 runs to pace visitors;

Spicer's triple in 1st gives PM a 1-0 lead, but B#1 ties a

half inning later on Luther Henline's 2-out solo HR;

PM retakes lead in 3rd on a Spicer RBI double &

tacks on another via a Tom Jividen single;

PM adds 2 more in 4th on a Pash triple & Spicer single;

B#1 counters with a single run in 4th on Schuerman's

2-out RBI double & then gets to within a run by plating 2 in

5th on Henline's 2-out RBI triple & Ken Rahe follow-up single,

but can't get equalizer

B#2 rebounds from opening-game pounding to take series

G#1:  BGTUM, 17-4

TUM offense comes alive as team wins 10th straight;

27-hit attack is fueled by 6 from Dave Avery (2B), 5 from

Andy Janes (2B) & 4 each by Brad Kratzer (3-2B)

& Mike Ruthenberg (2-2B, 3B);

Trinity breaks open 2-2 game in 6th with 15 runs

over its last 3 innings;

Brad Kratzer & Dana Kratzer knock in 4 apiece, while Janes

& Ruthenberg each plate 3;

Every TUM player has at least 3 total bases & 6 shooters drive

in at least 1 run, including Blair Eberly who hits a 2-run

double in 6-run 7th & Dana Kratzer who connects on a

3-run HR in bigger 7-run 8th;

Ken Gerwin has 4 hits for B#2, including an RBI triple

in 1st & run-scoring single in 9th;

Travis Ford (2B) & Duane Peters (3B) plate team's other

runs with RBI hits in 6th & 8th frames, respectively

G#2:  B#2, 8-7

B#2 holds a late 7-5 lead, but Trinity ties game with single

tallies in 8th & 9th innings;

B#2, however, gets knock-out punch in 9th on Ken Gerwin's

walk-off triple after a lead-off single by Ken Finley;

Mr. Grand Slam, John Keiser, garners another in 5th

to regain lead for B#2;

Duane Peters gives team a 2-0 lead in 1st on his 2-run triple;

Peters also has an RBI single in 3rd for B#2 to tie game at 3;

Mike Farr manufactures 3 doubles & 2 triples for

TUM en route to 4 RBI;

Farr accounts for Trinity's 8th-inning score with a 3-sacker

& Janes ties contest in 9th with a 2-out triple;

Avery has 4 more hits for TUM

G#3:  B#2, 7-3

B#2 scores 4 times in 1st & is never headed rest of way;

Ford has a 2-run double in opening frame;

Gerwin knocks in his squad's final 2 runs in 6th on a triple;

Farr (3B), Janes (2B) & Ruthenberg (2B) have TUM's RBI hits;

Avery collects 4 more safeties to close night with 14

G#1:  SGU, 4-3 (10 innings)

Jim Bowe wins it with 2 outs in 10th with walk-off single;

Bowe also hits 2 doubles & finishes with 2 RBI;

Steve Kurfess ties it in 9th with 2-out solo HR;

Ed Boelkens leads both sides with 4 hits;

SGU hits 3 errors in game, including 2 by Bob Dierker

whose 10th-inning error hit extends frame for Bowe

G#2:  SGU, 3-0

Dierker hits solo HRs in 1st & 5th innings,

while Don Young goes deep in 8th for only scoring of game

G#3:  SR, 6-4 (10 innings)

Fred Swihart drives in 2 with RBI hits in 8th (1B)

& 10th (3B) innings;

Jessica Orth also hits RBI 3-bagger in SR's 3-run 10th;

SR hits 4 triples in contest;

Don Taulker forces extras with 2-out solo blast in B-9th;

Gene Fairbanks cracks solo bomb in 5th & Bob Marsh has

RBI double in 10th, but SGU rally falls short in sweep attempt

Zion bounces back from early thumping to win series

G#1:  NR, 11-4

Sonny Castillo of NR collects 5 hits in opening-game win;

Castillo hits 2-run HR in 2nd, while Adam Snyder &

Dave Snyder hit 3-runs bombs, respectively, in 4th & 7th innings;

Adam Snyder also hits an RBI double in 1st;

NR jumps in front with 2 in initial at bat & never trails rest of way;

Rick Nelson of Zion has 3 RBI on a double in

1st & a 2-run, 2-bagger in 5th;

Brian Burrell knocks in ZL's last run with an RBI triple in 6th

G#2:  ZL, 9-8

Zion comes away victorious in another high-scoring affair

as Dick Eilert nets 4 hits (RBI) for winners;

Adam Snyder paces NR with 4 safeties (3 RBI), including

pair of HRs & a double;

Mike Hoelter breaks a 2-2 tie with a solo center finder in 5th;

Jess Lang's 2-run HR boosts lead to 3 runs in 6th, but

NR evens score in its 6th on RBI hits by Dave Snyder (HR),

Stev Bockbrader (3B) & Adam Snyder (1B);

Zion gets those runs right back in 7th thanks to an RBI

double by Nelson & a 2-run deuce by Dan Meyer;

Mike Moenter's RBI triple in 8th makes it 9-5;
NR rallies with 3 solo HRs over last 2 innings (Adam Snyder

in 8th; Jim Dobson & Castillo in 9th) but falls run short

G#3:  ZL, 12-2

Zion keeps offense rolling in finale with 25 hits of which

Burrell has 5, & Jim Hansen & Moenter each have 4;

NR is held to just 4 hits, but 2 are solo HRs by Adam & Dave Snyder;

Down 1-0, Lang ties game in 2nd with solo shot;

Hansen's RBI single in next inning puts Zion ahead for good;

An 8-run, 11-hit 4th seals wins as Meyer's grand slam brings home

half of frame's tally count;

Burrell (RBI), Moenter & Eilert all get 2 hits each in big 4th;

Hoelter drives in final run with a triple in 8th;

Lang, Hansen & Burrell each finish game with 2 RBI;

Snyders knock in a combined 13 runs over series with Adam

leading way with 8, while Meyer has 6 RBI for Zion
