Hosts vault to 3-0 advantage after 2 innings on Jeremy Orth's

RBI triple in 1st & a Steve Kurfess 2-run HR next inning;

ZL claims lead in 4th with 4 runs on 7 singles;

SR ties & then retakes lead in 5th on a Fred Swihart lead-off HR

& Jessica Orth's 2-out RBI double that stands as game winner;

Zion's Jim Hansen (RBI) & Curt Juergens (2B, RBI)

have 4 hits each to lead both sides;

ZL takes G#2 by score of 14-3 as Mike Moenter churns out

5 hits, including an RBI triple;

Juergens adds 4 more safeties & drives in 1;

Late-arriving Rick Nelson strokes 3 doubles & has 3 RBI;

Zion produces 25 hits after 16 in G#1;

ZL builds 5-0 lead before SR gets on board in 5th;

Zion ices contest with 6 in 6th & 3 more in 7th;

Dan Meyer & Nelson have 2-run doubles in

6th & Jessica Lang connects on a 2-run HR in 7th;

Myrl Bretz hits an RBI double for SR in 5th

& teammate Jeremy Orth has RBI triple in 6th;

Zion takes series with 4-2 win in nightcap;

Like it did in G#1, SR scores 1st, this time with 2 in 3rd

on Jigs Sandwisch's 2-run triple;

Zion knots score with 2 of its own in 5th, including

an RBI double by Nelson;

Nelson drives home another in 6th with a 2-sacker

& then triples in a run in 8th;

Nelson (3 RBI) & Juergens (RBI) finish G#3 with 3 hits each;

Juergens has 11 hits for night

B#2 takes hard-fought series with extra-inning win in G#3

B#2 captures G#1, 10-8, after trailing 3-0 early;

Hosts gain lead for 1st time with 5-run 3rd & never look back;

John Keiser hits 5th grand slam of season to cap big frame;

Down 10-5 in 9th, SGU makes things interesting with 3 runs

on a 2-run HR by Gary Evers & a solo blast by

Gene Fairbanks, but rally falls short;

John Schulte leads SGU with 4 hits, including an RBI double,

while Don Young has a pair of RBI triples & Chris Lockoski

has 2 RBI doubles;

Rick Cajka paces B#2 with 4 hits & Ken Finley (3B) has 2 RBI;

SGU gains upperhand in G#2 with 7-6 victory;

B#2 races out to 4-0 lead in 3rd, but SGU scores game's

next 7 runs with a 4-run 5th putting squad ahead for good;

Bob Dierker hits 2-run bomb in 5th with Schulte

following with a solo shot;

Young's RBI double in 6th stands as deciding run;

Young concludes with 4 hits (3-2B, 3B) & 2 RBI;

Mike O'Brien leads B#2 with 3 hits, including a hook-shot

HR (his 1st of year) to start game;

Travis Ford knocks in half of team's runs with a

2-run HR in 3rd & RBI double in 7th;

Keiser adds another center shot to put B#2 up 2-0 in 2nd;

Jim Bowe (3-2B) & Schulte finish with 3 hits each;

B#2 secures series with 3-2 victory in rubber match as Ford

wins it with a walk-off triple in 10th;

SGU holds 2-1 advantage into B-9th, but B#2 forces

extras on Keiser's RBI double;

Ford's solo HR to start 4th puts B#2 on board 1st before a

Fairbanks lead-off HR ties game for SGU in 8th;

Lockoski gives SGU a short-lived lead in 9th with an RBI double;

Ford finishes G#3 a single shy of cycle, while

Pepper Martin hits a pair of 2-sackers;

Kit Keiser draws league's 3rd walk of season in 2nd inning

after his father sacrifices a runner to 3rd base

(both were left stranded);

Schulte turns in a series-high 8 hits, while Young has 7

as does Cajka & O'Brien

Trinity offense comes alive with 25 runs in cooling off BGN

TUM wins G#1, 5-3:

Trinity breaks open 2-1 game with 3 runs in 8th;

Dana Kratzer, Mike Farr & Mike Ruthenberg all have

RBI triples in contest;

Ruthenberg drives in 2 for game, including an RBI single

in 4th that puts TUM in front for good;

Kevin Miller & Brendan Yowler hit RBI triples for BGN,

while Lish McIntosh collects 3 hits to lead both sides;

BGN's G#1 loss is only team's 2nd setback in 9 contests

& ends 4-game win string;

TUM builds 13-0 lead into last of 9th when BGN breaks

shutout by plating 7 runs after 2 outs;

Rookie Blair Eberly has 4 hits (3-2B) for Trinity & knocks in 2;

3 other TUM players produce 3 hits, including Dave Avery who

has a double, triple & HR (n his last 3 at bats) en route to 3 RBI;

Miller has 4 doubles for BGN & Yowler nets 2 RBI

with his triple in 9th;

TUM completes sweep with 7-1 win in G#3;

Dan Saygers has 3 hits (2-2B) & 2 RBI for Trinity while

Brad Kratzer plates 2 on a run-scoring double & triple;

Up 3-1, TUM salts game away with 4-run 8th as Farr

PM powers way into 1st place with 37-run, 91-hit night

PM starts night with 11-4 win in G#1;

NR actually leads 4-3 after 4 innings, but PM scores

game's last 8 runs, including a 5-run 8th;

Tom Jividen goes 6-for-8 for PM with a triple & 4 RBI,

while Bob Jividen (RBI) & Darren Pash (RBI) each have 5 hits;

Rick Ward (RBI) also contributes 4 of PM's 28 safeties;

Every player in PM's 7-man lineup has at least an RBI,

including Chris Soals who knocks in a pair;

Sonny Castillo paces NR with 3 hits (2B) & drives in 1;

PM takes G#2, 15-1, behind 33 more hits;

PM leads just 2-1 heading into B-3rd, but pulls away with 13

runs over next 4 frames, including a 6-run 6th;

Guests take opener, 6-3, with big 4-run 1st inning

being difference in game;

Roger Hayward hits 3-run bomb in 1st following

John Kunstmann's 2-out RBI double;

BGSM makes it 5-0 in 3rd on a Kunstmann 2-out RBI triple;

PP gets 3 back in its 3rd on 2-out RBI hits from

Al Troutt (3B), Chris Tezak (1B) & Dale Fahle (3B);

Larry Zimmerman adds an insurance run in 7th with a Z-bomb;

BGSM runs winning streak to 3 games with 6-4

victory in G#2 as Hayward's walk-off 2-run

HR ends it in 10th inning;

PP holds 4-0 lead into last of 8th before BGSM strikes

for 4 runs with Zimmerman's 2-run, 2-out double tying game;

Todd Kurfess (3B) & Hayward (1B) collect RBI hits earlier in 8th;

PP jumps out to 2-0 lead in 1st on Tezak's RBI triple

John Troutt's run-scoring single;

Fahle (3B) & Al Troutt (1B) add RBI hits in 5th to push

advantage to 4-0, but PP would collect only 1 hit over its last

17 shooters opening door for BGSM's comeback;

Tezak & Kurfess lead their respective squads with 3 hits each;

PP rebounds to capture G#3, 5-3, as a Ron Curtis

3-run HR in 4th stands as deciding blow;

PP takes 2-0 lead in 1st on an RBI triple by Al Troutt & a

follow-up single by Brent Welch, but BGSM takes lead in 4th on

Kunstmann's 3-run center finder;

BGSM's lead, however, only lasts 5 batters into B-4th

when Curtis connects;

Tezak has 3 more hits for PP & ends 3-game set with 8;

Kurfess turns in a series-high 9 safeties. including 4 in G#3;

Hayward knocks in 6 on night, while Kunstmann has 5 RBI

B#1 solidifies hold of 3rd place with road sweep

Visitors come back to win opener, 3-2, with a pair

of 9th-inning runs being difference;

Steve Kreais ties game at 1-1 with RBI triple & then

Vic Schuerman's 2-out RBI single stands as game winner;

Both teams trade 1st-inning runs with B#1 jumping

ahead 1-0 on a Ken Rahe RBI triple;

Craig Kleine gets run back for BGC with his RBI 3-bagger;

Ben Peters gives BGC a 2-1 lead in 6th with a clutch 2-out triple;

Dave Helm & Schuerman each have 3-hit games for B#1;

Peters (2B, 3B) & Paul Wachter (2-2B) each have 2

extra-base hits for BGC;

Both teams find their offensive stride in middle game

with B#1 winning 8-6;

After trailing 3-1 heading in 5th, BGC scores 3 runs &

eventually builds lead to 5-3 before B#1 rallies for 5 late;

Mel Karns sparks B#1 with 4 hits & Andy Kreais drives in 3,

all coming on a 2-out bases-clearing triple in 7th;

Down by run in 8th, BGC ties game on a Peters triple,

but B#1 gets 2 runs a half frame later with Luther Henline's

RBI 3-sacker giving his team lead for good;

Rick Traver goes yard 3 straight times for BGC with a solo shot

in 3rd, a 2-run bomb in 5th & another solo job in 7th;

Jerry Charles also hits a solo HR in 5th giving BGC its 1st lead;

B#1 erupts late in G#3 to win finale, 10-1;

BGC takes a 1-0 lead in 1st on Craig Kleine's 2-out RBI triple;

Lead stands until 6th when B#1 scores twice on 5 singles;

B#1 then posts back-to-back 4-run innings in 7th & 8th

frame to conclude game's scoring & put game away;

BGC collects but 2 hits after 1st inning while B#1 pounds out

18 safeties for 2nd straight contest;

Karns hits grand slam in 8th & ends G#3 with 6 RBI;

Rahe knocks home 2 with a triple in 7th followed by RBI

hits by Karns (1B) & Jim Fields (3B);

Helm adds 4 more hits & ends night with 8 as does Karns;

Rahe & Schuerman contribute 7 hits each as B#1

wins 4th series in 5 weeks
