BG St. Mark's draws even with New Rochester for 9th;

Salem Grace United solidifies hold on 8th;

BG Cloverdale comes up just short in sweep bid

of BG Trinity United Methodist;

BG Nazarene stays even with SR for 6th place

with 2 wins against Bethlehem #1;

B#1, TUM & Zion now deadlocked for 3rd with 36 wins

apiece entering final week of campaign

NR scores twice in 8th to grab win in opener;

Dave Snyder's 2-run double rallies team from 1-0 deficit;

Keith Miller's lead-off puts BGSM on board 1st in 4th inning;

Todd Kurfess & Roger Hayward pace hosts with 3 hits each,

while Sonny Castillo likewise has 3 safeties for NR;

Scott Seeliger makes his WCDL debut for BGSM singling

in his inaugural at bat

G#2:  BGSM, 2-1

BGSM wins this 1-run affair thanks to Miller's 2-out, 2-run

blast for BGSM in 4th;

Keith Roberts gives NR a 1-0 advantage in 3rd with his solo HR;

Both offenses struggle with just 6 hits each

G#3:  BGSM, 4-3

Miller again powers BGSM to victory in finale as he belts

a 2-out, 3-run HR in opening frame;

NR rallies to tie contest on a Jim Bockbrader solo HR in 3rd

& a Russ Siek 2-out, 2-run triple in 4th;

Marilyn Shepperd breaks deadlock in 6th with a 2-out,

solo center strike & BGSM holds on for victory;

Larry Weiss leads both sides with 4 singles & teammate

Kurfess has 3 more singles to end night with 8

Zion wins 4th straight set & 7th in last 8 weeks

G#1:  B#2, 5-3

A 4-run 6th inning lifts B#2 to victory;

Down 2-0, Pepper Martin starts rally with a 2-out single &

Kit Keiser follows with a 3-run bomb;

Both squad's trade runs in 8th with Curt Juergens cutting

deficit to 1 with his RBI single, but John Keiser adds

an insurance marker on an RBI double;

Zion starts game off on Jim Hansen's lead-off HR &

pushes lead to a pair of runs 2 innings later on a

Rick Nelson 2-out, RBI deuce;

Travis Ford has 3 doubles for B#2

G#2:  ZL, 4-3

B#2 holds a 3-0 advantage entering 6th inning, but Zion ties

game with 3 tallies of its own on back-to-back doubles

Zion then goes in front for good in 8th on Mike Hoelter's

2-out, RBI triple;

Ken Gerwin has an RBI triple in 1st for B#2 & Mike O'Brien

produces an RBI double in 2nd to make it 2-0;

Ford strokes a run-scoring 3-bagger in 5th to push

B#2 cushion to 3 runs, but its lead would shortly vanish in 6th

G#3:  ZL, 8-2

Zion jumps out to a 3-0 lead in opening inning en route

to victory in rubber game;

Nelson has a 2-run double & Mike Hoelter an RBI single

in team's 1st frame;

B#2 scores twice in 2nd on consecutive RBI doubles

by Martin & Russ Abke, but can get no closer as Zion

scores game's final 5 runs;

Nelson finishes contest with 4 doubles & 4 RBI;

Nelson's 2-run deuce in 8th caps 3-run inning;

Hoelter adds another RBI to his count with a triple in 5th;

Juergens & Mike Moenter also drive in runs for Zion

on singles in 4th & 8th stanzas, respectively

SR regains winning ways ending PM's series win streak at 6

G#1:  SR, 4-3

Ed Boelkens goes 5-for-5 at the line as SR rallies from an early

2-0 disadvantage to break PM's winning string at 8 games;

Tom Jividen gives PM a 1-0 lead in 2nd with an RBI single &

Grace Jividen singles in another in 3rd;

SR grabs 3-2 cushion in 5th when Steve Kurfess (HR),

Earl Hagg (3B) & Larry Michel (1B) collect RBI hits;

Darren Pash ties game for PM on a 2-out, RBI triple in 6th;

Jigs Sandwisch has what stands as winning hit when he comes

through with an RBI 3-bagger in 7th

G#2:  SR, 6-5

Both teams put 3 runs on board in 1st inning;

Alex Ward (2B), Tom Jividen (1B) & Grace Jividen (1B) string

together 3 straight RBI hits with 2 down for PM, but

SR counters with a 2-out, 2-run triple by Rick Lees &

a follow-up RBI single by Fred Swihart;

SR gets 2 more in 2nd on Hagg's 2-out, 2-run triple;

PM chips away to tie game with single tallies in 4th & 7th;

Grace Jividen accounts for run in 4th with an RBI single

& Ward has a run-scoring single in 7th;

Kurfess snaps tie in 8th with a 2-out solo HR;

Ward finishes with 5 hits, while Grace Jividen has 4

G#3:  PM, 8-7

PM avoids being swept for what would have been 2nd time of

year with win in finale which features 5 lead changes

from 5th through 8th innings;

Ward, Tom Jividen & Arron Brockschmidt each plate

2 runs for PM, while Jessica Orth knocks in 3 for SR

on a solo HR in 5th & a 2-run shot in 8th;

Her blast in 8th gives SR a short-lived 7-6 advantage before

PM rallies for win with 2 in its 8th;

Tom Jividen ties it with a clutch 2-out triple & Grace Jividen

provides timely go-ahead single a shooter later;

Ward has a 2-run, 3-sacker in 5th as does Brockschmidt in 7th

with both hits tying game at 2-2 & 5-5, respectively

BGN moves back over .500 with series victory

G#1:  BGN, 6-4

Down 6-0 entering 9th, B#1 rally falls short

G#2:  B#1, 8-4

Andrew Kreais hits a grand slam for B#1 in team's

big 6-run 5th frame

G#3:  BGN, 5-4

BGN rallies to tie game with a 4-run 8th & then

wins it on Brendan Yowler's 2-out, walk-off RBI triple in 9th
