Red-hot BG Trinity United registers 2nd straight sweep &

10th victory in last 11 contests to move into tie for 3rd place

with Bethlehem #1, winners of 2 games against Zion;

BG Nazarene sweeps to move into tie for 6th with

Stony Ridge which wins yet another series;

Salem Grace wins twice as well

TUM wins opener 9-4 in a game it never trails;

Brad Kratzer, Dan Saygers & Gary Manning all drive in 2 for hosts;

Manning sparks 3-run TUM 2nd with 2-run double;

Shelby Janes has solo HR in team's 3-run 4th;

PP cuts to 6-4 in 7th on a Ron Curtis 2-run bomb & a

Chris Tezak RBI triple, but Trinity puts game away with 2 in

8th with 1 coming home on a Mike Farr RBI triple;

Farr also adds 2 doubles to his hit count;

TUM maintains a 4-0 advantage into 6th & holds on

for 4-3 victory in middle affair;

Kratzer & Farr have RBI 3-sackers in 1st & 5th frames, respectively;

Saygers drives in half of team's runs with pair of RBI singles;

Chris Tezak (2B), Dale Fahle (HR) & Will Tezak (HR)

account for PP's RBI safeties in 6th, 7th & 8th innings;

PP breaks a scoreless tie in 4th on a Fahle solo HR, but

Trinity counters with 4 in its 4th & never is headed

again in 7-2 win in finale;

TUM puts together 3 straight doubles, including RBI hits by

Saygers & Dana Kratzer, before Mike "Babe" Ruthenberg

clears bases with a 2-run HR;

Brad Kratzer gets an RBI double in 5th to put up 5-1;

3 more doubles in 6th push TUM's cushion to final score with

Ruthenberg & Tim Parish producing RBI 2-baggers;

John Troutt drives in PP's only other run with a single in 6th;

Brad Kratzer collects 4 doubles in as many trips to line

A Fairbanks RBI double in 3rd gives team 1-0 advantage, but

NR takes only lead of contest in 5th as Ryan Chamberlain

connects on a 3-run bomb;

Russ Siek plates NR's final run with an RBI double in 7th;

SGU makes it 2 wins in a row with a 6-1 conquest in G#2;

SGU builds 5-0 lead into 8th when NR breaks shutout

on another HR by Chamberlain;

Jim Dobson hits a solo blast in 2nd, Adam Snyder connects

with an RBI double in 3rd, & Dobson, Sonny Castillo &

Bockbrader plate runs in 4th with RBI 2-sackers;

Snyder adds another RBI double in 7th as does Lyle Schroeder;

Fairbanks has a solo HR for SGU in 4th to get

his team on scoreboard;

Don Taulker (2B) & Bowe (1B) have SGU's other RBI hits

in 6th & 8th innings, respectively

SR continues to roll with 5th consecutive series win

Down 2-0 in opener, BGC rallies to score 5 runs in

6th & then fights way to an 8-6 victory;

Ahead 6-5 in 9th, Ron Merritt gets his 4th hit of game,

a 2-run triple, for what proves to be a much needed insurance

runs as a Steve Kurfess HR closes out scoring for SR;

Merritt finishes with 3 RBI as does Caitlin Davenport who

produces a key bases-loaded triple in 6th for BGC;

Jerry Charles hits a solo HR in 7th to put team ahead 6-5

after SR scores 3 in its 6th to deadlock contest;

Jeremy Orth has 3 RBI for SR on 2 triples &

Larry Michel plates pair in loss;

SR takes G#2, 6-3, with Fred Swihart's solo HR in 7th

giving team lead for good;

A Ben Peters RBI triple in 4th ties game at 2-2 for BGC;

SR adds 3 more runs on Orth's 2nd RBI triple of

game in 8th & another Swihart solo bomb in 9th;

Charles & Ralph Aufdenkamp have HRs for BGC;

SR races out to a 4-0 lead in G#3 after 2 innings &

coasts to an 11-2 victory;

Orth has 4 hits, including 3 triples, & also nets 4 RBI;

Lori Dewyre & Swihart each hit 2-run center strikes &

Michel also has 2 RBI for victors;

Davenport has an RBI 3-bagger for BGC to get team on board

in 5th & later scores squad's other run in 7th after tripling

PM starts series with automatic out for 2nd

straight week as B#2 takes opener, 8-0;

Rick Cajka has 5 hits for B#2 with 2 RBI;

Mike O'Brien's RBI triple in 2nd inning proves

to be game-winning hit;

Ken Finley (3B) & Travis Ford (2B, HR) both drive in pair of runs;

PM builds an 8-run lead in G#2 before settling for 8-4 win;​

Rick Ward, Darren Pash & Paul Spicer (3B) each have 5

hits for PM, while Spicer, Grace Jividen & Arron Brockschmidt

each plate 2 teammates;

B#2 breaks shutout with 4 in 8th, including a 3-run

HR by Rick Rahe;

PM rallies for 11-10 victory in finale;

Pepper Martin hits a grand slam in 1st for B#2 & team races

out to a 7-0 lead before PM scores game's next 11 runs;

A frantic 2-out rally by B#2 in 9th falls just short;

Martin finishes with 5 hits & 5 RBI;

Ward has 6 hits for PM;

Grace Jividen knocks in 4 with 3 coming on a HR in 5th,

while Tom Jividen also has 4 RBI, including a bases-loaded

triple in 4th frame to get PM on board

BGN breaks 1-1 tie in 7th with RBI hits from Bill Bosworth (1B)

& Mike Barbour (2B) to earn 3-1 win in opener;

Brendan Yowler puts hosts up 1-0 in 3rd with RBI triple, but

BGSM manages to knot game in 5th on back-to-back

doubles by Mark Henning & Cheryl Kurfess;

BGSM manages just 1 hit rest of way, while BGN would rally in 7th;

G#2 goes to BGN, 10-4, as Bosworth has 4 hits, including a

bases-loaded triple in 9th with team up 6-4 to ice contest;

Lish McIntosh also produces 4 hits (3 RBI);

McIntosh's 2-run HR in 2nd gives BGN lead for good;

Kevin Miller drives in 2, including an RBI double in 5th;

John Kunstmann plates 3 of BGSM's run count with a solo HR

in 4th & a 2-run triple in 5th that cuts deficit to 5-4;

Larry Zimmerman produces BGSM's 1st run with a

solo Z-bomb in 2nd;

BGN completes sweep with 8-3 victory in finale;

Tied at 3-3 entering B-6th, BGN gets pair on 2-out, RBI

doubles by Miller & Phil Cribbs to snap deadlock;

BGN puts game away in 7th with 3 more tallies with Miller

producing another RBI double;

Miller gives BGN a 2-0 lead in 2nd with a 2-run deuce;

Bosworth makes it 3-nil in 5th with an RBI single, but BGSM

rallies once again for 3 in 6th on an RBI triple by

Kunstmann & Zimmerman's follow-up 2-run shot;

Miller knocks in 5 (2-2B, 3B) & finishes with 6 RBI for evening;

Kunstmann has half of BGSM's RBI over series with 4

to match McIntosh on other side
